Super Junior’s Choi Siwon shoots a TV series with 150 fans

Super Junior’s Choi Siwon of SBS’s new Monday-Tuesday series Lord of the Dramas recently shot the series in front of his real fans.
Choi plays the role of a top star named Kang Hyun Min. He is smart and refined enough to become a popular star not only in Korea but also in Asia.
He shot a scene, in which he holds a fan meeting, with over 150 fans, who applied for the shooting thorough social networks. Fans from Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, and Thailand gathered to shoot the scene with him and proved his high popularity.
Choi says, “I was very surprised to see my real fans. Even though it was a fan meeting for the TV series character, I had fun with my fans and it made me happy.”
“I hope people will watch the series and complete the day with happy feelings.”
The series is a comedy about the president of an outsourcing production company, a new writer, and a top star actor. Besides Choi, Kim Myung Min, Jung Ryeo Won, Oh Ji Eun, Jung Man Sik, and Kwon Hae Hyo will appear on the series.

Super Junior top three weekly charts on the Oricon

Super Junior recently topped three weekly charts on the Oricon.
Super Junior topped the Daily Chart, the Weekly DVD Chart, the Weekly DVD Music Chart, and the Blu-ray Disc Chart on the Oricon with the DVD and Blu-ray Disc of Super Junior World Tour: Super Show 4 Live in Japan, released on October 31.
Super Junior are the first foreign male artists to top the Weekly DVD Chart, the Weekly DVD Music Chart, and the Blu-ray Disc Chart on the Oricon.
The DVD and Blu-ray Disc contain the concerts held at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka in December last year and at the Tokyo Dome in May, part of Super Junior’s world tour, Super Show 4, which was held in Osaka, Taipei, Singapore, Macao, Bangkok, Paris, Shanghai, Jakarta, and Tokyo, starting in Seoul in November last year.
Super Junior-K.R.Y will hold concerts under the title of Super Junior-K.R.Y Special Winter Concert 2012 at the Pacifico Yokohama from November 19 to 21 and at the Kobe World Memorial Hall from December 22 to 24. A concert at the Budokan was recently added at the request of many Japanese fans of Super Junior.
Super Junior members are currently active in drama series and musicals and on radio shows.

Film Jackal is Coming has recently been sold to six countries, including Japan and Thailand.
On November 8, Lotte Entertainment reported that film Jackal is Coming has been sold to Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei before its release in Korea.
The biggest reason for the overseas sales of the film is that it stars JYJ’s Jae Joong, who is popular in Asia, South America, and Europe, and Song Ji Hyo, who is popular for her regular appearance on SBS TV’s Running Man.
The Japanese distribution company of the film says, “Jae Joong is one of the most popular Korean singers in Japan. We’re expecting that the film will become a box office hit because he’s a good actor and he appears as a top celebrity in the film.”
Jackal is Coming is a film about things happening after legendary killer Bong Min Jung (played by Song Ji Hyo) receives a request to kill top celebrity Choi Hyun (played by Jae Joong). It will be released on November 15.

On November 8, a picture of Yoo Chun at the first read-through for Missing You was uploaded on JYJ’s official Facebook page.
In the episode of MBC TV’s Missing You that aired on November 7, Jung Woo (played by Yeo Jin Goo), a boy from a wealthy family who lives with painful memories, meets Soo Yeon (played by Kim So Hyun), a daughter of a murderer who gets bullied by kids at school.
Yoo Chun plays the role of Jung Woo, a detective who feels sorry for his first love he couldn’t protect.
Yoo Chun left a comment on his Facebook page, “Did you watch the first episode yesterday? I often say, ‘This drives me crazy,’ while reading the script. Please give your interest to Missing You.”
Missing You, which stars Yoo Chun, Yoon Eun Hye, Yoo Seung Ho, and Jang Mi In Ae, is a melodrama about a man and a woman who live with painful memories about their first love. Yeo Jin Goo and Kim So Hyun are portraying the childhood of Jung Woo and Soo Yeon.
The second episode of the series airs on November 8 at 9:55 p.m.

MBLAQ’s Joon surprises Oh Yeon Seo on Radio Star

MBLAQ’s Joon recently made a surprise guest appearance on MBC TV’s Radio Star.
On the episode of MBC TV’s Golden Fishery – Radio Star, Oh Yeon Seo appeared as a guest. She was asked, “What’s your ideal type?” and she said, “Joon.” At this, host Super Junior’s Kyuhyun asked her, “What does Joon mean to you?” and Oh said, “He’s like vitamin to me.”
At the moment, Joon suddenly appeared on the studio and gave Oh a hug from behind. At the surprise guest appearance of Joon, Oh smiled brightly and blushed. Joon appeared in a dinosaur costume that Oh gave him as a gift.
Hosts asked Joon, “Why are you here?” and Joon said, “I like MBC. Radio Star helped me a lot. I also did well when I appeared on this show as a guest.”

The Kim Jang Hoon Forest will be created in China

The Kim Jang Hoon Forest will be created in China.
Kim recently participated in an event to combat desertification. According to Kim’s agency, Kim planted about 12,000 trees in Inner Mongolia and Ningxia.
The government of Ningxia named Kim a member of the Antidesertification Committee in Ningxia and an honorary president of the Antidesertification Association. In March next year, he will also be named an honorary ambassador at an event in Ningxia. The government has named the forest after Kim’s name.
The government of Ningxia is treating Kim as a national guest, saying, “This is the first time that a celebrity has done something to combat desertification. Thanks to Kim Jang Hoon, we named the forest after him.”
The government also asked Kim to hold a concert at a concert hall in Lanshan, which can accommodate up to 25,000 people. It promised that it will provide everything he needs to hold the concert.
Kim will fly to Shanghai from Ningxia on November 8 to set up a schedule for his concerts in China and come back to Korea. He will perform “Nothing” on KBS 2TV’s Music Bank.

Song Hye Kyo donates all proceeds from her advertisement

Song Hye Kyo recently helped to build a school in China.
Song appeared on the Chinese version of public benefit campaign ‘Children are future.’ She decided to donate all proceeds from her appearance to help building an elementary school in China.
According to a spokesperson for Song, she appeared on the campaign as a favor. She donated all proceeds to Doosan Hope School. Doosan has been helping China to build elementary schools since 2001.
Song also appeared on the movie The Grand Master, which is directed by Kar Wai Wong. She was also cast in the movie, which will be directed by John Woo, with Ziyi Zhang and Chen Chang.

Psy gives a lecture at Oxford University

Psy recently gave a lecture at Oxford University in the UK.
On November 7, Psy gave a lecture at Oxford University under the subject of “challenge and decision,” invited by the Oxford Union, a student club at the university. Nearly 300 students attended to listen to Psy’s lecture.
At the lecture, Psy talked about the success of “Gangnam Style” and his future plan.
Psy said, “When I was fifteen, I was inspired by Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody.’ I wasn’t handsome enough to succeed as a singer, but I tried to overcome this by giving pleasure to people.”
Regarding the success of “Gangnam Style,” Psy said, “I tried to be as funny as possible. I think that appealed to many people all over the world.”
Psy also said, “Rather than copying the western music, I’ll try to appeal to people with songs in Korean. I’ll release a new album in both English and Korean in February or March next year. I’m not the only one who has contributed to the success of ‘Gangnam Style.’ I’ll be happy if this success continues, but I’ll be still satisfied even if it doesn’t last because I’ve tried my best.”
According to reports, the lecture hall was full of laughs because of Psy’s witty lecture. Psy danced to “Gangnam Style” with the students at the end of the lecture.
Psy will appear on TV shows in the UK and fly to Germany to attend MTV Music Awards on November 11.

Park Shin Hye makes a cameo appearance on the Taiwanese version of You’re Beautiful

Park Shin Hye will make a cameo appearance on the first episode of the Taiwanese version of the drama series You’re Beautiful.
You’re Beautiful, a drama series that stars Park, Jang Keun Suk, Jung Yong Hwa, and Lee Hong Ki and became a big hit in Korea, Japan, China, and Taiwan in 2009, was remade into a Japanese drama series last year and will be remade into a Taiwan version this year.
Park will shoot a scene for the first episode of the series in Taiwan from November 8 to 10.
On November 8, 4HIM Entertainment, Park’s agency said, “Park Shin Hye is very happy to make a cameo appearance in the first episode of the Taiwanese version of You’re Beautiful.”
Park uploaded a picture of herself at an airport on her Twitter account with the comment, “I’m going to see Go Mi Nam in Taiwan. I’ll be back soon!”
In the picture, Park looks innocent with long straight hair. She also left a cheering message to high school seniors who are taking the college entrance exam on the day, saying, “You must be nervous, but I hope you do well!”

Some of celebrities take the college entrance exam today

Some of celebrities, who are also high school seniors, are taking the college entrance exam on November 7.
4Minute’s Sohyun appeared at Shinkwang Girls’ High School at 7:50 a.m. to take the exam.
Sohyun said, “I’m so nervous to take the college entrance exam. Other 4Minute members encouraged me to take the exam well, so I’ll try to do well.”
People from Cube Entertainment, 4Minute’s agency, and Sohyun’s friends came to the place to cheer for Sohyun.
At this, Sohyun said, “I thank the people who came here to encourage me early this morning. I hope other seniors also take the exam well. I want to sleep after finishing the exam.”
B.A.P’s Jongup came to Bangsan High School to take the exam.
