Infinite takes the top spot on M-Countdown



The boy group Infinite ranked first on M-Countdown on April 4 with the new song “Man in Love” after getting back on the show on March 28. When it was confirmed that they were number one after competing with the female duo Davichi, the group expressed their gratitude by saying, “First of all, thank you for all the fans who are here today and fans who are watching on TV. We’re glad we’ve stayed healthy even with our hectic schedule. We will show our fans further progress day by day in a humble manner.”
The group also took the top ranking for the second time on music charts after SBS’s Ingigayo aired on March 31. “Man in Live” is the title song of their fourth EP, New Challenge.
Other singers who appeared on the same show were K-Will, Davichi, Lee Hi, ZE:A 5, Girl’s Day, Lunafly, Delight, and Pure.

LUNAFLY Showcase in Singapore on 12th May


Debuting in September 2012, the rookie group LUNAFLY, a trio from Nega Networks will be visiting their fans in Singapore for the first time as they hold their fan sign and showcase on 11th and 12th May respectively.
 Having sold out their VIP tickets on 29th March causing the event organizers to add on another 50 tickets to the showcase, it shows the group’s steadily rising popularity after having performed in Jakarta, Indonesia on the 28th and in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 30th of March.

Lee Joon Gi invites fans to his ‘Let’s Go Birthday Party’

In celebration of his upcoming birthday, actor Lee Joon Gi will hold a special event on April 14 at the Yonsei University. Dubbed as ‘Let’s Go Birthday Party’, this birthday bash and fan meeting will be attended not just by Korean fans, but also fans from Japan, China, Hong Kong, and other neighboring countries. Tickets for the event were sold out minutes after the registration went online.
According to IMX, Lee Joon Gi’s agency, the first part of the event will feature talks and interviews with the actor himself, while the second half will be the concert proper.
Lee Joon Gi, who officially turns 31 on April 17, is said to be reviewing scripts for his next project on the small screen.

BtoB releases its first new song in seven months



On April 4, BtoB’s agency reported: “It has been one year since BtoB’s debut last March. BtoB will release a new love song, “The Second Confession,” in commemoration of its first anniversary. “The Second Confession” is a sweet song that puts you in a springtime mood. The song has a easygoing melody that a whole generation can relate to.”
A spokesperson for the group says that the song begins with a narrative about the feelings of a man who is making a second confession to a woman he has broken up with. The song features lyricism with witty yet sincere words.
“The Second Confession” is in a sense a serenade to the group’s fans, showing a new side of the group through a sweeter, softer appeal than that of BtoB’s previous powerful performances.
BtoB has some suprises in store to accompany the release of “The Second Confession” as a digital single on online music websites on the 10th of April.


Sun Ye is blessed with a honeymoon baby



Sun Ye, the leader of the Wonder Girls (Sun Ye, So Hee, Ye Eun, Yu Bin, and Hye Lim), tweeted news of her pregnancy on the afternoon of April 4, asking for fans’ good wishes: “I respect all the mothers in the world who have experienced the mysteries and wonders of life. We are blessed with a honeymoon baby. I’m entering my third month, which is said to be the proper time to let the news of a baby be known. Please pray that our baby will grow in good health while in my womb!”
Having dated her groom for three years, Sun Ye married James Park, a missionary, on January 26 this year with a big celebration attended by many people. Shortly after the wedding, the couple departed on a honeymoon to the Maldives.
Since she debuted as the leader of Wonder Girls in 2007, Sun Ye has become a popular idol in Korea with a succession of hit songs, including “Tell Me,” “So Hot,” “Nobody,” “2 Different Tears,” “Be My Baby,” and “Like This.”

Park Shin Hye is cast in a lead role in the new drama series Heirs

According to an announcement by her agency, S.A.L.T. Entertainment, Park Shin Hye has been chosen for the lead role in the new drama series Heirs. The drama will be written by the well-known writer Kim Eun Sook and produced by Kang Shin Hyo.
The actress debuted in Stairway to Heaven and also acted in several other drama series, including You’re Beautiful and Heartstrings. Recently she has gained the affection of many young people since her appearance in the movie A Present from the Seventh Room, which attracted more than ten million moviegoers. About being cast in the new series, she said, “I’m so happy to join the cast of a drama written by Kim Eun Sook, with whom I really wanted to work after seeing her previous drama.”
Kim Eun Sook has written a number of popular drama series, including Lovers in Paris, Secret Garden, and Gentleman’s Dignity. Previous series produced by Kang Shin Hyo include The High Rollers and Midas.
Lee Min Ho has also been cast in a lead role in Heirs, which is scheduled to begin airing in the second half of this year on SBS.
