SHINee puts up an impressive show yet again and fans are craving for more. Despite this being their 3rd time in
Singapore this
year alone, SHINee is still much sought after. A full-house it was, the
stadium was beautifully lighted up with fans waving lightsticks in the
official fancolor, Pearlescent Blue.
Shinee World Concert II displayed an upgraded and
matured side to these 5 young singers. The stage was amazingly
put-together, complete with explosive pyrotechnics, light beams, water
sprays and confetti. But that was not all, SHINee members performed on
elevated revolving platforms and even did aeriel stunts!

The show kicked off in a grand sci-fi manner, with the five boys
appearing from a smoky meteorite-like capsule. As though they have
transcended through space and fallen on Earth, the scenario aptly links
to their first song of the night,
‘Lucifer’. Other hits like debut song
‘Replay’,
‘Ring Ding Dong’ and
’Hello’ had the audience fan-chanting and grooving to the beat.
Of course, a concert would have solo performances to display the unique persona of each member. This time is no different.
Charismatic
Minho danced to
’Turn Up The Music’, flashing his abs to his screaming fans at the end. Known for his ardent love for Lady Gaga, it was no surprise to see
Key covering her songs for his solo act. Decked in a headband and studded vest, the ‘
Little Monster’ performed Gaga’s
‘Hair’ and
‘Judas’. Leader
Onew did a musical version of Jason Mraz’s
‘I Won’t Give Up’ and Toy’s
’A Passionate Goodbye’.
Vocalist
Jonghyun brought the audience on an emotional ride with his ballad
‘Y Si Fuera Ella’.
Up to the end, complete with blood smeared on his white shirt, pouring
his heart out amongst red petals and having to be carried offstage by a
crew, Jonghyun succeeded in keeping it dramatic. No longer an innocent
prettyboy, Maknae(youngest member)
Taemin transformed to a rock star and did his rendition of Korn’s
‘Get Up’. Their drama did not end here.
Jonghyun and
Taemin challenge the boundaries and paired up to perform Seo Taiji’s
‘Internet Wars’. Showing off his bronzed toned upper, Jonghyun engaged in an intense battle
(and skinship) with Taemin, ending off with both handcuffed to each other.
Admittedly, at some points, their vocal chops were rather unstable
and pitchy. However, SHINee was seen pouring their heart and soul into
each performance. Not forgetting to provide massive amounts of
fanservice, the boys also threw wads of SHINee notes and plastic balls.
The night ended off with the last encore ballad piece
’Life’.
Decked in their signature colourful skinny jeans, SHINee went to the
corners of the extended stage, bowing deeply to thank their fans.
Picking up some of the headgears and soft toys thrown by fans on stage,
SHINee paraded around like little kids.

A
birthday celebration was
also held for Onew and Minho, complete with cake-smashing food-fight
and a group picture. In high spirits, SHINee promised to be back for
another concert again. With a final bow, they left the stage. Minho
lingered on stage a little longer and was the last member to exit,
showing a heart-sign to fans.
Thank to organizer
Running Into The Sun and its PR team for the invitation to review the concert. Could we possibly have a
SHINee World Concert III next, as highly requested by fans?
