On December 11, some people in the music industry reported that SNSD are secretly working on their fourth album to be released in January next year.
They reported, “SNSD have been working on albums to be released in both Japan and Korea. They will most likely to release a new album in Korea early in January next year.”
According to them, SNSD will release a new album in Korea early next year. Since they released the third album, The Boys, in October last year, they haven’t released a new album in Korea.
In April, Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun released an EP, Twinkle, in the name of SNSD-Tae Ti Seo. However, it’s been fourteen months since the group released the last album in Korea. Because SNSD are one of the most popular girl groups in Korea, many people are looking forward to their new album.
SNSD are also mentioned as the next-generation artist to succeed Psy, whose song has been a worldwide hit. SNSD are nominated for the World Best Group at the 2012 World Music Awards, which will be held on December 20. SNSD’s new album release is expected to attract a lot of attention from people all over the world.
A spokesperson for SNSD says, “SNSD have almost finished working on their new album because they have already decided the lead track of the album. We haven’t decided when to release the album, yet. It’s also too early to talk about whether or not they will release a new album in overseas countries.”
SNSD are currently promoting their second album, SNSD 2 Girls and Peace, released in Japan on November 28.
