There appeared a genius boy who reminded people of Michael Jackson in K-pop Star 2.
In the episode of SBS’s K-pop Star 2 that aired on November 25, competitive applicants were spotted auditioning to advance for the second round.
Particularly, an elementary school student Bang Ye Dam gave a spectacular performance with his harmonica of the songs by Maroon 5 and Psy and surprised the audience with his outstanding rearranging skills.
The participant attracted more eyes from the judges as he performed Hanson’s “Mmm Bop.” The judges were struck with admiration.
However, BoA said, “He has a very beautiful voice and is very skillful for his age. But most guys break their voice as they mature, and I can’t be sure how his voice will turn out after that. I’m sorry but I cannot give him a pass for the next round.”
Park highly praised him, saying, “It was as if I was watching the childhood of Michael Jackson. He is a genius musician who knows where to pull a certain pitch at the right time.”
The episode also attracted attention as it covered the judge Yang Hyun Seok allowing a wild card for the participant Song Ha Ye, saying, “I want to change her singing habit.”
