On December 20, SM Entertainment uploaded a picture of a logo that symbolizes SNSD on SNSD’s official Twitter account with the comment, “2012. 12. 21. 10 a.m.”
SM Entertainment didn’t mention about the meaning of the numbers, but it was found out that the numbers mean the release date of one of the tracks from SNSD’s fourth album according to reports.
SNSD have secretly worked on the fourth album. It’s been a while since they released the third album, The Boys, in October last year.
Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun released an EP, Twinkle, in April, as a unit group, SNSD-Tae Ti Seo, but it’s been fourteen months since SNSD released the last album in Korea.
SNSD will also release new material in the U.S. next year. When they released an English version of “The Boys” last year, they received a lot of attention from many overseas fans. They’ll release the album through Interscope Records, which represents Lady Gaga and Eminem.
SNSD is currently nominated for the Best Group Award at the 2012 World Music Awards, which will be held on December 20 (local time).
