Psy fails to receive an award at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards

Psy unfortunately failed to receive an award at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards, one of the most recognized entertainment awards in the U.S.
The 39th People’s Choice Awards was held on January 9 (local time). The music video of Psy’s “Gangnam Style” was nominated for the Favorite Music Video with those of Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend,” Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Baby,” Kary Perry’s “Part Of Me,” and Maroon 5′s “Payphone.”
As the music video of Katy Perry’s “Part Of Me” was selected for the award, Psy unfortunately failed to become a winner of the award. Katy Perry also received the Favorite Female Artist Award.
Although Psy failed to become a winner at the awards, he is nominated for three awards at the 2013 NRJ Music Awards, the biggest music award ceremony in France, which will be held on January 26. Thanks to the global popularity of the music video of his song, “Gangnam Style,” Psy is nominated for the International New Artist of the Year, the International Pop Song of the Year, and the Best Music Video of the Year.
Psy received the Best Video Award at the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards, which was held in Germany last year, and received the New Media Award at the 40th American Music Awards, which was held in the U.S. last year.
The music video of “Gangnam Style,” which was released on July 15 last year along with Psy’s sixth album part one, has received over 1.1 billion hits on YouTube and is currently the most watched video in the world.
