On April 25, Super Junior held their Super Show 5 concert at Movie Star Arena in Santiago, Chile, captivating Chilean fans with their fantastic performances. The arena is the largest indoor venue in the country, and such world-class singers as Beyoncé, Maroon 5, Avril Lavigne, Shakira, Backstreet Boys, and Elton John have graced the stage there.
By attracting 12,000 fans, Super Junior surpassed JYJ’s and Kim Joon Soo’s records of 3,000 each. This is a new record among Korean singers.
The group performed 24 songs, including their debut song “Twins,” “Sorry Sorry,” “Beauty,” “Mr.Simple,” “Sexy, Free & Single,” and “Ai se eu te pego,“ a South American song they specially prepared for.
Their agency, SM Entertainment, says, “Fans shouted and sang the songs in Korean along with the group while waving blue light sticks (which symbolize Super Junior) and holding colorful placards, national flags, and balloons, much as is commonly done at performances in Korea.”
The group finished their last performance of South American tour in Lima, Peru, on April 27.
