Psy receives the Artist of the Year at the K-pop Awards

Psy received the Artist of the Year – August at the Gaon Chart K-pop Awards.
At the second Gaon Chart K-pop Awards, which was held on February 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Olympic Hall in the Olympic Park, Psy received the Artist of the Year – August for “Gangnam Style.”
Because he’s currently working in the U.S., he couldn’t attend the ceremony. Instead, Big Bang’s Seungri received the award for him as a substitute. He said, “I’ll give this trophy to Psy,” dancing to “Gangnam Style.”
The K-pop Awards selects the winners based on the accurate, objective data (sales volumes of songs and albums) collected by the Gaon Chart. The Artist of the Year is given to the groups that top the chart each month and quarter.
The award ceremony was hosted by Joo Young Hoon and Ga In from the Brown Eyed Girls. Such artists as Big Bang, Super Junior, TVXQ, SNSD-Tae Ti Seo, 2NE1, the Wonder Girls, and T-ara attended the awards.
