Psy recently attended the American Music Awards.On November 18 (local time), Psy received the New Media Honoree at the 40th American Music Awards, which was held in Los Angeles, the U.S.
Psy delivered the exciting news on his Twitter account.
Psy uploaded a picture of himself holding a trophy on his Twitter account with the comment, “I received the AMA’s New Media Honoree Award from Lance Bass!”
In the picture, Psy is posing for the camera with the hosts of the awards, holding a trophy he received at the Coca Cola Red Carpet Live Show, a pre-show of AMA.
Psy received the New Media Honoree for “Gangnam Style.” The award was newly created this year for Psy, who has become very popular through YouTube and other social networking sites.
The American Music Awards is sponsored by ABC, and top musicians can only be invited to this awards.
Psy also received the Best Video at the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards, which was held on November 11 in Frankfurt, Germany.
It now seems possible for him to receive awards at the 55th Grammy Awards, which will be held in February next year, and at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, which will be held in May next year. He is also likely to attend the 2013 Brit Awards, one of the most recognized pop music awards, which will be held in London, the UK, on February 20 next year.
At AMA, Psy will perform “Gangnam Style.” The performance will air live on ABC and YouTube.
