SNSD also topped the Hanteo Chart for two weeks with the album and receive a lot of attention from the U.S. Billboard, MTV, and Popdust with the song.

In the 18th episode of MBC’s Wednesday-Thursday series Missing You, which aired on January 9, Soo Yeon (played by Yoon Eun Hye) gives a correct answers to questions given by Han Jung Woo (Park Yoo Chu).
Saying that’s correct, Jung Woo tells Soo Yeon to reveal what she wishes for. Soo Yeon says, “My dream is to go back someday 14 years ago. Or if it’s impossible, I wish I lived the rest of my life like those days.”
Jung Woo asks when it was, and Soo Yeon recalls her old happy days, saying, “The day I had a fight with detector Kim for snatching a clothespin. I’d never seen my mom look so happy before.”
One day, 14 years ago, detective Kim played prank on Soo Yeon by snatching her clothespin given by Jung Woo as a gift. Soo Yeon chased after him trying to get it back. Watching them playing a joke, Soo Yeon’s mom is all smiles. Soo Yeon now misses the happy old days.

In the episode of SBS’s Midnight Entertainment TV that aired on January 9, Girls Generation was interviewed in a segment titled “Tell Me Your Wish.” When asked which member is likely to change herself most dramatically when she gets a boyfriend, the girl group pointed out Sooyoung. Leader Taeyeon added, “Whenever we get these kinds of questions, we point out Sooyoung. She prays for a good husband. I heard she actually does pray in a sincere and earnest way.”
Embarassed, Sooyoung burst out laughing. Tiffany, next to her, explained, “She also prays for us, her SNSD bandmates.”

Kim Hyun Joong starts going on a tour of Japan

Kim Hyun Joong recently started going on a tour of Japan.
On January 10, Key East, Kim’s agency, reported that Kim held concerts in Kobe on January 6 and in Saitama on 7 under the title of Japan Tour 2013 Unlimited.
Kim has attracted a total audience of 20,000 to the two concerts.
A spokesperson for Kim says, “The concerts were really successful. Thousands of fans of Kim Hyun Joong waited for the concerts to begin for several hours in front of the concert halls, wearing shirts that have Kim Hyun Joong’s initials printed on.”
For nearly two hours, Kim gave dynamic performances to the audience with a lot of energy, and the audience enjoyed the concerts standing up. Kim also occasionally tried to communicate with them in Japanese.
The spokesperson for Kim also says, “Kim Hyun Joong tried a variety of performance and stage setting at the concerts. With a band participating in the concert from the beginning to the end, he received many favorable reviews from the audience.”
Kim will make stops in a total of ten cities in Japan, including Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Osaka.

2AM’s first Japanese album ranks first on Tower Records and third on Oricon



2AM ranked in the top three on the charts in Japan with their first Japanese album on the first day after its release. On January 9, 2AM released Voice in Japan, and the album topped the Tower Records Chart the very next day. It also ranked third on the Oricon Daily Singles Chart.
A spokesperson for 2AM says, “Since 2AM debuted in Japan in January last year with ‘Never Let You Go,’ they’ve ranked in the top ten on the Oricon Weekly Chart with all four singles released. They ranked in the top ten of the chart with the first album this time.”
The album contains a total of twelve songs. “Please Give Me An Innocent Smile,” a track from the album, was written by Changmin.

Super Junior’s Shindong and Infinite’s Sung Kyu are cast in JTBC Noble Life

Super Junior’s Shindong and Infinite’s Sung Kyu were recently cast in JTBC Lee Soo Geun Kim Byung Man’s Noble Life as fixed members.
Lee Dong Hee, a producer for the show, says, “I was looking for someone to cast in our show. When I saw Super Junior and Infinite on the show last year, I offered Shindong and Sungkyu the job. We believe Shindong will do a great job on the show because he is a close friend of Lee and Kim. And we also expect Sung Kyu to give a different perspective.”
The show has aired for about a year and they decided to cast fixed members for the first time to change the format of the show.
At first, Kim and Lee competed against each other in their rooftop house. But these days on the show, various guests appear as new tenants living next door. Shindong and Sung Kyu will be long term tenants on the show to make people laugh.
The show’s new format will air in February.

2Yoon, 4minute’s first unit group, to release their first EP


Girl group 4minute’s first unit group, 2Yoon, are set to release their first EP, Harvest Moon, which includes the country pop dance song “24/7,” on January 17 through online music sites. The unit group is composed of Heo Ga Yoon and Jeon Ji Yoon. The song “24/7,” which means 24 hours a day, seven days a week, sends a message that we should all live an exciting life and find ways to break out of daily routines. Interesting melodies complement the exciting country pop song with Heo’s high notes and Jeon’s powerful vocals.
The EP Harvest Moon is a result of relentless efforts finally paying off. In a music video for the title song, comedian Jung Hyung Don drew special attention in a cameo appearance.

Psy unfortunately failed to receive an award at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards, one of the most recognized entertainment awards in the U.S.
The 39th People’s Choice Awards was held on January 9 (local time). The music video of Psy’s “Gangnam Style” was nominated for the Favorite Music Video with those of Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend,” Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Baby,” Kary Perry’s “Part Of Me,” and Maroon 5′s “Payphone.”
As the music video of Katy Perry’s “Part Of Me” was selected for the award, Psy unfortunately failed to become a winner of the award. Katy Perry also received the Favorite Female Artist Award.

Secret’s Zinger will attend the Golden Disc

Secret’s Zinger is coming back to stage.
On January 10, TS Entertainment, Secret’s agency, reported that Zinger will soon start performing on stage again.
The agency said, “Zinger has been taking a break to get recovered from her injuries. Her doctor said she’s completely healed, so she will attend the 27th Golden Disc Awards, which will be held on January 15 and 16 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Because she’s a rapper and a choreographer in the group, she’s been missing the stage so much while she was taking a break. Dal Shabet’s A Young is cast in a new drama series


Dal Shabet’s A Young will soon make her acting debut in KBS 2TV’s new drama series Lee Tae Baek, which will start airing in the time slot of School 213 when that series ends. She attended the first read-through on January 9.
A Young plays the role of Gong Sun Hye, a junior at an art high school who works as a designer, accountant, and secretary for GRC, an advertising agency run by Ma Jin Ga (played by Go Chang Suk).

The character she plays in the series is a strange girl with distinctive hair and fashion style who always speaks using language that is often seen online. She always squabbles with Ma Jin Ga, who call her “Hulk.”
A Young says, “I’m very nervous because I’m making my acting debut in this series. I’m learning a lot from other actors. I’m so excited about this new challenge. Please give me your support.”

Lee Tae Baek is about people who work in the advertising industry. It will describe their passion and love in a realistic way. It stars Jin Goo, Park Ha Seon, Han Chae Young, and Go Chang Suk.

Lee Joon Gi shoots Healing Camp for two days


On January 10, Lee Joon Gi came back to Seoul after finishing the shooting of SBS TV’s Healing Camp, Aren’t You Happy.
