CNBLUE in high spirits at Singapore press conference

Pop-rock quartet CNBLUE was in Singapore for their second leg of the Blue Moon World Tour 2013. The four members consisting of Jung Yonghwa, Lee Jonghyun, Lee Jung Shin and Kang Minhyuk met with the media during a press conference at Grand Copthorne Hotel. Organized by local promoter One Production, this is the band’s first full-fledged solo concert in Singapore.
Not your typical kpop idol group, CNBLUE is definitely one of a kind. Without any gimmicks, fancy choreography and extravagant costumes, the band stays true to their passion – making music. They started off as an indie band playing on the streets and clubs in Japan, even before their debut in Korea. Recalling their success thus far, they thanked those who recognized their talents and supported them since. Missing the good old days, Yonghwa jokingly suggested wearing masks and performing on the streets again for the fun of it!

An all-rounder artiste, CNBLUE members have tried their hands in acting as well. Leader Yonghwa took the lead as the heartthrob in drama series ‘You’re Beautiful’ and ‘Heartstrings’. Guitarist Jonghyun was recently recognized for his acting in ‘A Gentleman’s Dignity’ as Jang Dong Gun’s son and received the SBS New Star Award 2012. Open to future projects, fans can look forward to their next acting stint! However as Minhyuk says, the band’s main focus right now is their World Tour.

CNBLUE also managed to forged new friendships along the way. CNBLUE and Singapore-born singer JJ Lin met backstage during the quartet’s concert in Taiwan. Yonghwa pointed out that the shirt he was wearing at the press conference was a gift from JJ Lin.

With a quick crash course in Singlish by the emcee, CNBLUE bid their goodbye with “I love you lah”s and “thank you lah”s to the media. Those who has posed questions were presented with a box of traditional Korean snacks that CNBLUE themselves brought along. Such a sweet gesture, don’t you think?
