K.Will tops the Billboard K-pop chart, and Davichi has two songs in the Top 10

According to the April 10 Billboard chart,  the title song of part two of K.Will’s third studio album, “Love Blossom,” topped the K-pop Hot 100 Chart. “Love Blossom” is an urban soul number with an impressive, funky medium beat and a sweet piano melody. Composed by hit songwriter Kim Do Hoon, “Love Blossom” shows off K.Will’s wide spectrum of vocal colors well, giving this work a fresh new feeling. K.Will’s agency, Starship Entertainment, says: “Bringing two opposing feelings, familiarity and newness, works well in this album.”

The female duo Davichi also got two songs in the Top 10. They showed their potential, holding second place with “Turtle” and third place with “Be Warmed.” Since releasing “Turtle,” included in their second studio album, on March 4, the duo continued gainingt popularity with the release of “Be Warmed” on April 1.

Lee Hi’s “Rose” and Geeks’ “How about?” ranked fourth and fifth.

Lee Hi, who debuted with a bang last year, had released her new two-part album with two title tracks, “It’s Over” and the latest one “Rose”.
We’ve all watched “Rose” music video which was released on March 28th, and Lee Hi had also performed the song a few times. Now we get to see the the talented young singer rehearsing the song with her background dancers in a practice video uploaded by YG Entertainment.

Psy’s new single “Gentleman” to be released on April 12th



After the unexpected worldwide success of “Gangnam Style”, Psy is set to release his highly anticipated new single.
Psy previously revealed that the new song’s title will be “Assarabia”. However, a change of plan was made and “Gentleman” was chosen as the official title. YG Entertainment announced that the song will be released on April 12th in 119 countries through iTunes as well as a domestic release.
“Gentleman”, which music video will feature Brown Eyed Girls’ Ga In and members of ‘Infinity Challenge’, will also be performed for the first time ever during Psy’s ‘Happening’ concert on April 13th with labelmates G-Dragon and Lee Hi as guests.
Whether the new single and music video will live up to “Gangnam Style” or not, we will know the answer soon! Are you excited?

CN BLUE Releases ‘Blind Love’ PV


CN BLUE makes a come back in the Japanese market. On April 10, the much-awaited PV(promotional video) of CN BLUE’s ‘Blind Love’ has been revealed! Universal Music Japan uploaded the PV via its official YouTube account and the video has garnered over 7,000 views in just a day!
Unlike most videos, the ‘Blind Love’ PV does not make use of gimmicks and massive backdrop settings. Instead, it makes use of silhouettes and only exposes the band members for split seconds. The video also featured Japanese actress Akari Hayami.
‘Blind Love’ would be CN BLUE’s 5th Japanese single to date and is set for release on April 24. On related news, the band recently kicked off their Blue Moon World Tour in Taiwan and will be heading to Singapore on April 13.

BTOB’s “Second Confession” music video released!


Rookie group BTOB revealed their new song “Second Confession” on April 10th, and the music video has just been released.
“Second Confession” is full of light beats and sweet lyrics, a perfect song to listen to during spring. In the music video, the boys show their cute and casual look as they sing about a man’s second confession to a woman he broke up with in the past.
The song also serves as a thank you present from BTOB to their fans, which makes it even more meaningful.

Han Ga In and Lee Byung Hun attend the 9th Chinese Hwa Ding Awards

    
On April 10, Lee Byeong Hun and Han Ga In attended the 9th Chinese Hwa Ding Awards and the 2013 Chinese Movie Satisfaction Index Awards.

At the event, both Lee and Han walked down the red carpet in black as if they had planned in advance to come as a matching pair.

Han Ga In was dressed in subdued grace. She wore an off-the shoulder, long black dress that showed off her beautiful figure. Lee Byung Hun also chose the proper fashion protocol for the awards, appearing in all black items except for his white shirt: black shoes, black suit, black bow tie, and even a black handkerchief peeking out of his lapel pocket.

Joining them on the red carpet was Korean businessman Tylor Kwon, who is well known as the boyfriend of top Hong Kong star Gillian Chung.  In the ceremony, Han Ga In was one of the presenters of the Best Supporting Actor Award along with Chinese actor Simon Yam. Lee Byung Hun won the award for Best Foreign Actor.

The Wonder Girls’ Hye Lim becomes a DJ on EBS’s English Go Go program


On April 10, the Wonder Girls’ agency announced that Hye Lim has become a DJ in the “Wonder K-pop!” segment of EBS Radio’s English Go Go. EBS is the Korea Educational Broadcasting System. Every Wednesday, Hye Lim translates lyrics of Korean songs into English and introduces the most recent American pop songs in Korean.
English Go Go is one of EBS’s most popular programs. An EBS official said Hye Lim gives a boost to the radio program with her bright, vivid charm. She is known to have a command of four languages: Korean, English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. She says, “I’m always interested in English and especially wanted to teach the language. I hope I can teach it to many people in an easy and interesting way.”
The members of the Wonder Girls have been doing individual activities since the wedding of the group’s leader, Sun Ye.

T-ara makes public its formation of a subunit


On April 7, T-ara (Bo Ram, Ji Yeon, Hyo Min, Eun Jung, Cu Ri, So Yeon, and A-Reom), already in the fourth year since their debut, formed a subunit and released an official poster for it. The subunit (composed of Eun Jung, Hyo Min, Ji Yeon, and A Reom) will release a new song, “Countryside Diary,” on May 1. T-ara has gained popularity with the songs “Bo Peep Bo Peep,” “Roly Poly,” and “Lovey Dovey.”
In the poster, released by their agency, Core Entertainment, on April 10, Ji Yeon is wearing strong make-up and a costume with fancy accessories, giving a somewhat different image from what the group had been shown previously. This arouses curiosity about how they will come off with their fans.
Seeing the date “Friday, April 12” in the poster, people are anticipating that the subunit is planning something special for that day. People are guessing they will release the name of the subunit and a jacket image on that date. It is said the new song “Countryside Diary” is strong, funky dance music mixed with hip-hop, written by Double Sidekick.
