Kim Hyung Jun and Yoo Ye Eun performed at SPD Charity Show in Singapore


On 17th March, Hallyu star Kim Hyung Jun and Korean pianist Yoo Ye Eun, chosen as representative of Korea, performed at SPD Charity Show hosted by MEDIACORP TV SINGAPORE. Together with 30 local and international artistes, Kim and Ye Eun came together to perform in aid of the Society for the Physically Disabled.

Representative of Korean Embassy in Singapore disclosed that Kim Hyung Jun is chosen to represent Korea in this charity show is because Kim is known to be a very charitable person and he has a really clean image.
Kim Hyung Jun also expressed that he was very happy to come for the show as it is for such a good cause. Although this is the first time for Kim Hyung Jun to join charity event overseas, however, Kim Hyung Jun has been actively doing Charity work in Korea. He has been known to donate rice to low income families for 2 years in a row. To aid in raising fund for the physically disabled, Kim Hyung Jun performed ‘Sorry I’m Sorry’ and ‘Just Let It Go’ from his latest album ‘Escape’.
As for the talented pianist Yoo Ye Eun, this is her third time performing at SPD Charity Show, the last time she was here was 2 years ago. Ye Eun, though she could not see, but has a special talent in playing piano that she is able to play a song just by hearing it. Ye Eun performed two pieces at the show, ‘Flight of Bumble Bee’ and ‘Beautiful Life’ (self-composed by Ye Eun, lyrics by Liang Wen Yin).
SPD Charity Show ended with a success, with all efforts put in by various artists, donations exceeded target amount of 3.5million! If you have missed the show yesterday, you may catch it again this coming Sunday on Channel 8.

Lee Seung Gi is transformed into a half-man-half-beast in a new drama series



On 18th of March, MBC released some photos of Lee Seung Gi, who had begun to shoot a new drama series titled Gu Family’s Book, which is scheduled to on start airing in April. The first shooting of the series took place on March 14 in Hadong, South Gyeongsang Province. With his hair tied up in a dark reddish-brown traditional costume, he played Choi Gang Chi, a half-man-half-beast, in his first historical drama.

He exchanged some in-depth opinions with the producer about the drama. After shooting the first day, Lee said, “I feel honored to work with the screen writer Kang Eun Kyung, the producer Shin Woo Cheol. and I feel happy and raise my hopes as I perform with other actors I like. Because this is my first historical drama, I’m spending a lot of time preparing for it, especially getting accustomed to a way of speaking that is suitable for a historical drama.

Park Tae young, the chief producer, said, “Lee Seung Gi will show a new aspect of himself as an actor which has never been seen before.”

The new series will begin airing on April 1 in the time slot of  Horse Doctor.

Davichi’s Kang Min Kyung expresses her excitement in anticipation of the release of the group’s second album


On the morning of March 18, Kang Min Kyung tweeted: “It’s d-day for the release of the second album. We are more excited than ever, because we have put our whole heart into the new album.” She went on to mention the fact that the album was first introduced on the radio. “We have decided to introduce our new album on the radio because there are so many stories about our elaborate album and we thought three minutes on stage is not enough to fully express our songs. We hope you like the album.” Davichi is going to appear as a guest on the MBC radio program Kim Shin Young’s Noontime Requests.

Kang Min Kyung has revealed some Polaroid pictures taken with composers who worked on the album. Many famous musicians participated in the making of the album, including 015B’s Jung Suk Won, Loveholic’s Kang Hyun Min, and Verbal Jint.

Park Shin Hye amazed Filipino fans with her talents!

 Last March 16, 2013, popular South Korean actress Park Shin Hye had her fanmeeting in Manila, Philippines at Star Theater, CCP Complex. A lot of her fans attended and had a great time. Park Shin Hye herself enjoyed seeing her Filipino fans and meeting them for the first time.
On the day of the event before her fanmeeting took place, she guested in the local noon time show, “It’s Showtime” and promoted the event. She even met Ryan Bang, a pure Korean who became a popular comedian, TV personality, TV host, actor and recording artist in the Philippines after joining the reality survival show, Pinoy Big Brother (PBB). Ryan Bang was nervous to meet her in person and felt happy to have shaken her hand. One of the host, Anne Curtis mentioned that the local network, ABS-CBN will be airing Park Shin Hye’s new drama. Although no title has been mentioned, fans are already guessing that it will be the drama, “Flower Boys Next Door”
During the fanmeeting, Park Shin Hye made the atmosphere hotter by performing a dance medley much to the delight of her fans. The medley included songs like SISTAR’s “Alone”, SNSD’s “Genie” and Hyunah’s “Bubble Pop” and a special dance number at the end. This proves that she is indeed a multi-talented artist as she also trained in singing and dancing when she was young.
The fans were very thankful as Shin Hye sang a Tagalog song titled, “Kailan”. It was a well-known song and it made the actress happy that the fans sang along with her. She sang in a soft voice and the way she clearly pronounced the lyrics amazed everyone.
On the 17th, Park Shin Hye departed from Manila and tweeted a selca (above) with her Filipino fans with words of thanks and praises.

Super Junior’s Siwon says “We are ready”!



Super Junior‘s member, Siwon recently tweeted that they are ready for their upcoming concert this March. He tweeted a picture that looks like it was taken in a practice room either during break time or after their practice.


As have been announced by SM Entertainment before, Super Junior will be having their Super Show 5 concert in Seoul, Korea this 23rd to 24th of March. More details regarding locations and dates will be revealed soon.

G-Dragon will reveal his new single “Michi Go” during his world tour


On March 15, G-Dragon’s agency reported: “G-Dragon’s new single will be revealed during the Seoul concert of his 2013 World Tour—One of a Kind. The song has a strong sound that will draw the audience into the concert.”

G-Dragon showed off a classy hip-hop sound in his solo EP of last year, which included the songs “One of a Kind” and “Crayon.” Fans have been looking forward to more of G-dragon’s stylish and somewhat crazy performances.

The details of the release of the new song and of G-Dragon’s schedule will be announced later. The concert tour will start in Korea and proceed to various countries to meet the fans all around the world. It has been four years since the 2009 Shine a Light Concert, and G-dragon is the first Korean solo singer to tour the big four Japanese domes.

SHINee wins 9th 1st Place trophy for ‘Dream Girl’


Boy group SHINee has added another trophy to their collection.
On March 17th, SHINee won for the 9th time with their comeback song Dream Girl. What made this win even more special was the fact that they won on the first episode of Inkigayo since Inkigayo revived the ranking system. The five member group wrote on their me2day, “‘Dream Girl’ won #1 again~^^ Everyone~ We sincerely give our thanks for giving us this valuable #1.” The members look quite ecstatic as they pose in some funky and colorful outfits.

MBLAQ’s G.O. opens his own official Facebook page!



Last night, MBLAQ’s G.O. joined one of the most used and most popular social networking sites, Facebook. G.O. announced it through his Twitter account where a link to the page was included.

Within 20 hours the page have garnered 30,000 likes. G.O. also posted a status update that garnered 4,737 likes and a 2,971 comments from fans all over the world.
