Hee Rae finds out the truth about her mom

In the episode of KBS 1TV’s Monday-Friday series Cheer Up, Mr. Kim that aired on February 18, teenager Hee Rae (played by Suh Ji Hee) overhears a conversation between Woo Kyung (played by Wang Ji Hye) and her incorrigible mom who she didn’t even know existed. What she finds out is that her mom isn’t dead like her uncle, Mr.Kim (played by Kim Dong Wan), has always told her. Ever since her mom abandoned her when she was a baby, Mr. Kim has told Hee Rae that her mom was dead to protect her from the hurtful truth.
In this episode, Woo Kyung, who is Hee Rae’s teacher and Mr. Kim’s friend, hears from Mr. Kim that Hee Rae’s mom has returned only to get more money from him. Meanwhile, the selfish and thoughtless mom goes to see Hee Rae at school, saying she is only going to give Hee Rae a gift and not reveal her identity. Woo Kyung tells her that is too risky and tries to stop her from seeing Hee Rae. It is during this conversation that Hee Rae approaches and hears the truth. The viewers will see how Hee Rae reacts to her uncle’s white lie in the next episode.
