U-KISS Members Kevin and Soohyun Lends A Helping Hand for Jakarta Flood Victims

Two members of U-KISS Kevin and Soohyun who visited Jakarta, Indonesia, in their original fanmeet and showcase dates had something different in planned. With the fan event postponed due to Jakarta’s bad weather condition, they came in their group’s stead to apologize and lend a helping hand directly to the affected victims of the Jakarta flood last weekend (01/02).

The group has donated 20 copies of their seventh mini-album ‘Stop Girl’ which was signed by all the members and two personal clothes that was signed from Soohyun and Kevin.  Two albums was auctioned off live on spot with total sales of Rp3.500.000, – (roughly US$350). The rest of album and clothes will be auctioned online at the organizer’s site, Oppa Oppa Live. The entire auction results will be distributed to the flood victims through WVI. The auctioning session was open to the public, and it has certainly inspired fans and media to participate in helping and sharing with one another.

Later in the afternoon, the two members visited refugees in the major affected areas of North Jakarta. Accompanied by WVI, Soohyun and Kevin distribute stationery and toys to children in refugee camps.Greeted cheerfully by children, U-KISS could not hide their heartfelt expression with the welcoming enthusiasm. The afternoon was filled with fun and laughter with interaction with the kids by playing and entertained children of flood victims happily, despite the language barrier between them.

Soohyun and Kevin also reveal their thoughts after visiting this charity, “We are excited to be

able to interact directly with them. But unfortunately it’s only for a while, short time. This charity visit

means a lot to us, and also reminds us to be more grateful. Even in difficult situation, the kids are still

smiling.”

U-KISS hopes their visit could give encouragement to children and inspire others to share. And indeed, we are all truly grateful and be blessed by their actions that is inspiring for everyone!

The Indonesia fanmeet and showcase is to be commenced on 26 and 27 April 2013.
