Kara’s Han Seung Yeon Wore 5-inch Heels to Overcome Short Height

In order to overcome her status as the shortest member of Kara, Han Seung Yeon revealed that she wears 5-inch heels, which resulted in her getting leg pains.
On the episode of “Strong Heart” that aired on September 4, Han Seung Yeon shared, “One thing that girl groups can’t look past is height. The longer you are and the better body proportions you have, clothes look better on you and you have a greater presence.”
She continued, “Since I’m the shortest of the group, I don’t really have much of a presence. So I kept wearing killer heels all the time. So I started to fall and slip a lot too. So I ended up getting pain in my ankle area. After visiting the hospital, the doctors told me that my ankle was in bad shape from wearing those heels all the time.”
Han Seung Yeon then pondered if she should continue wearing those kill heels or not. Then she said she saw an article that stated that her height was an average height in Korea. She said, “I am 160 cm (5′ 3″) and they said that’s the average height for Korean women. So I thought, ‘my friends are the tall ones, I am not short. I am average so it’s okay.’ I tried to be positive afterwards.”
