IU’s new EP will include a rearrangement of a song from a popularr musical


On March 20, IU will release her first official Japanese EP, though she has previously done Japanese versions of “Good Day” and “You & I.” This time, she is raising the level of her music with the collaboration of some of the best producers.
The new album will include a rearrangement of the song “The Age of Cathedrals” from the popular musical Notre Dame De Paris. The song will be prereleased in Japan on February 6. IU will be busy throughout the spring with activities related to this new release.
In addition to her musical activities in Korea as well as her promotional events in Japan, IU has also been chosen to play the lead in a new KBS 2TV series titled Lee Soon Shin Is Best. Expectations for this upcomirng EP are on the rise as the songs included will not be remakes of earlier songs but all new ones.
The world-renowned producer-duo Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, who have worked with a lot of top talents, including Boyz II Men and Prince, did two of the songs for IU.
In March of last year, IU ranked eighth on the Oricon Singles Chart with “Good Day” and again ranked high in the charts with her second single “You & I.” The songs were composed by Lee Min Soo, and the lyrics were written by Kim Lee Na. Her second official album, Last Fantasy, ranked in first place on the Japanese iTunes Chart.
IU has been planning her promotional events for Japan since April of last year and has been been busy in the interim performing overseas.
