At their wedding held on January 26, Sunye and her husband James Park used a Maybach, which ranges from 600 million to 900 million won, as their wedding car.
The car is one of the most expensive of its
kind in the world, and is only owned by such prominent figures as
Chairman Lee Kun Hee of Samsung, actor Bae Yong Jun and singer Lee Seung
Chul. The newlywed couple enjoyed the rest of their wedding day in a
decorated car of the build.
The problem was in its license plate. A board reading ′James♥Seonye,
Blessings & Love in Jesus′, used to decorate the car, had covered up
its license plate.This is a violation of the fifth clause of Article 10 from the Automobile Management Act. Those who violate the law are subject to at most a year in prison or a fine of 3 million won.
Netizens who saw photos of the wedding car started criticizing the act, leading Sunye and the company that prepared the car to apologize.
The provider Marquis came to apologize through its official website on January 28, saying, “We wish to sincerely apologize for the mistakes made on the part of Marquis regarding the wedding decorations. The idea was wholly Marquis′, and we hope this does not harm the blessed couple. Please excuse us for the incident, which branched from the preparer′s ignorance of the law.”
Sunye also apologized through her Twitter account.
While on her honeymoon, she wrote on January 28, “We didn′t know the license plate had been covered up because we had rushed into the car when it was dark. We want to emphasize that this did not happen on purpose, and I wish to apologize for not being precise on the matter.”
Sunye is currently enjoying her honeymoon in the Maldives.
